About
conscript-kit is a command-line kit that translates English into the fictional scripts and ciphers of Gravity Falls, The Owl House, Avatar and Transformers. It encodes and decodes the letter ciphers, draws the glyph scripts as SVG from the glyph outlines, and traces fonts from key charts when no font exists. This blog shows what it makes and explains how.
Where the keys come from
Each scheme has a record with its sources: the fan wikis (Gravity Falls Wiki, The Owl House Wiki, Avatar Wiki, TFWiki), the official files from the Gravity Falls web puzzle, and the printed key charts. Each image caption on this blog lists the sources of that key. When the sources do not give a complete key, the kit refuses to encode and says why.
Who owns the scripts
The scripts, characters and names belong to their owners. This is a fan project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Disney, Hasbro, Paramount or Nickelodeon. The fonts that drew the images are not distributed here: the official Gravity Falls fonts are for personal use, and the traced fonts are derivatives of the key charts. The Avatarian glyphs and rules come from User:TechFilmer on the Avatar Wiki (CC BY-SA 3.0), so the Avatarian image is shared under CC BY-SA 3.0.
